World Book Day
On Friday, 7th March, we had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! The children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life in a colourful and creative way.
Throughout the day, pupils took part in exciting in-class activities to celebrate the magic of books. We enjoyed book reviews, read alouds, book quizzes, blether stations (where we chatted about our favourite reads), and some children even got creative by designing their own book covers! Of course, no World Book Day would be complete without some DEAR time – Drop Everything And Read – where we all got lost in our favourite stories.
5th class enjoyed reading stories to the Junior Infants, Senior Infants and Bláthú in the halla. It was lovely to see the older children sharing their love of books with the younger ones!
A special thank you to all the families who donated books to our school. World Book Day was a great opportunity for us to get immersed in our new books. As you know, we are working to promote a love of reading for pleasure throughout the school and would encourage all children to have a book in their bags at all times. Reading is one of the most important things a child can do and we encourage our pupils to read as regularly as is possible.
